To better protect you from account takeover fraud, the Shared Branching Network is rolling out a new ID authentication process for in-person visits at participating credit union branches.
This new security measure ensures it’s really you accessing your account—not an imposter.
How It Works for Out-of-State IDs:
If you visit one of our Shared Branch locations and present an out-of-state ID, you’ll be asked to complete a quick multi-factor authentication process using a QR code and one-time passcode.
Here’s what to expect:
- Scan the QR code in branch or visit verify.coop.org
- Select Your Credit Union from the list
- Enter your member number and last four digits of your Social Security number
- Upload a photo of your ID
- Take a selfie
- Show the one-time passcode to the teller (valid for 20 minutes)
