Marketing Coordinator

Location: Watford City, ND

Position Summary:

The marketing coordinator is responsible for supporting the marketing department in maintaining and enhancing the organization’s brand presence. This involves effectively communicating the value of membership, driving product adoption, and fostering strong member relationships through strategic marketing initiatives, community engagement, and digital communication efforts. The role aims to increase member satisfaction and loyalty while contributing to the credit union’s growth and visibility.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

Brand Development and Management:

  • Support the marketing department’s initiatives with planning, executing and tracking of marketing programs such as email, social media, digital advertising, events or content marketing.
  • Assist in maintaining a consistent and recognizable brand identity.
  • Support marketing departments efforts to develop strategies to convey membership benefits and promote product utilization.

Marketing Strategy and Execution:

  • Oversee the creation, production, and distribution of marketing materials.
  • Design promotional layouts, advertisements, lobby displays, and other visual assets as needed.

 

Channel Optimization:

  • Identify and utilize appropriate distribution channels to maximize ROA.
  • Track and analyze the effectiveness of marketing efforts to inform future strategies.

Competitor Awareness and Market Insight:

  • Monitor competitors’ products, services, and pricing to ensure Dakota West remains competitive and innovative.

Community Involvement:

  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and participating in community involvement activities.

 

Internal and External Communication:

  • Promote Dakota West’s mission and values through professional, clear, and effective communication.
  • Work closely with internal teams to align marketing initiatives with organizational priorities.

 

Project Coordination:

  • Maintain focus on high-priority projects and ensure deadlines are met.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with various teams.
  • Proficiency in social media strategy and campaign development.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A commitment to professionalism and high ethical standards.
  • 2 years’ experience in public relations, marketing or communications.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the financial services industry, particularly Credit Unions.
  • Experience coordinating with ad agencies and managing large-scale campaigns.
  • Understanding of federal and state regulations regarding financial services marketing and compliance.
  • Experience with graphic design, layout creation, and marketing material production.

 

Physical and mental demands:

  • Constantly required to sit, hear, talk, write, read, keyboard/computer entry, reach, stretch, work under time constraints with needed ability for task management flexibility and to perform routine duties with attention for details.
  • Constant abilities used/required on the job are mathematics, memory, reasoning, estimating, problem-solving and exercising judgment.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

 

Work environment:

  • Constantly works with others, around others and with members and the public. Constantly works indoors, in confined areas and is exposed to the risk of electrical shock.
  • Frequently works around noise (moderate level). The employee must have the ability to focus on tasks and members while listening to teller machines, conversations of others, coin sorter, music, phones etc., in a confined area.
  • Frequently the employee works alone and may also work near moving objects. The employee is also infrequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
